Welcome
Welcome to the Blue Lightning Track Club (BLTC) Off-Season Conditioning Program. Our goal is to develop speed, strength, conditioning, proper running form, track and field fundamentals, and the Champion's Mindset in a positive and demanding training environment.
1. Program Duration and Enrollment
Enrollment begins upon registration or the participant's first scheduled practice, whichever occurs first, and remains in effect through the end of the registered Off-Season Conditioning program period.
2. Who the Program Serves
Current Blue Lightning athletes
Student-athletes preparing for middle school or high school track tryouts
Athletes preparing for the indoor track season
Athletes from other sports seeking improved speed, agility, strength, and conditioning
Athletes exploring track and field or possible future Blue Lightning competitive-team membership
3. What the Program Includes
Coaching and athlete development
Speed, conditioning, strength, and core training
Proper running form and track and field fundamentals
Preparation for school tryouts and future competition seasons
Hydration, nutrition, recovery, and supplemental training resources
4. Sports Physical Requirement
Each participant must have a current sports physical completed and signed by a licensed physician or other authorized licensed healthcare provider before participating. Do not enter medical details or upload medical records through the New Champion Profile form. Instructions for securely providing the sports physical will be sent separately.
5. Attendance, Effort, and Conduct
Participants are expected to arrive on time, follow coaching instructions, complete assigned activities to the best of their ability, and treat coaches, teammates, officials, volunteers, and other families with respect. Fighting, bullying, threatening behavior, persistent disruption, profanity directed at others, or refusal to follow safety instructions may result in suspension or removal from the program. Program fees will not be refunded when participation ends because of misconduct or repeated failure to follow program requirements.
6. Blue Lightning Time Trial and Competitive-Team Selection
Athletes interested in joining the Blue Lightning Track Club competitive team will participate in the Blue Lightning Time Trial, scheduled for the final day of the Off-Season Conditioning Program unless the coaching staff announces a change.
Competitive-team selection will be determined by the coaching staff based primarily on Blue Lightning Time Trial performance, together with effort, coachability, attendance, attitude, athletic development, and readiness to compete. Completing Off-Season Conditioning or the Blue Lightning Time Trial does not guarantee selection or an invitation to the competitive team.
7. Registration and Refund Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable after enrollment, except where otherwise required by law or expressly approved in writing by Blue Lightning Track Club. Missed practices, voluntary withdrawal, schedule conflicts, or early departure do not create a refund or credit obligation.
8. Assumption of Risk
The participant and parent/legal guardian understand that athletic training includes inherent risks, including falls, collisions, heat-related illness, muscle strains, sprains, and other injuries. They voluntarily accept those inherent risks on behalf of the participant to the extent permitted by law.
9. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the participant and parent/legal guardian release and hold harmless Blue Lightning Track Club and its owners, officers, coaches, staff, volunteers, agents, affiliates, facilities, and program partners from claims arising from participation in Off-Season Conditioning, except for claims that cannot legally be released.
10. Emergency Medical Authorization
If the parent/legal guardian cannot be reached during an emergency, they authorize Blue Lightning Track Club personnel to contact emergency services and authorize reasonable emergency medical evaluation or treatment for the participant. The parent/legal guardian remains responsible for medical costs not covered by insurance or another responsible party.
11. Media Release
The participant and parent/legal guardian grant Blue Lightning Track Club permission to photograph, record, and use images or video of the participant from practices, program activities, and related events for coaching analysis, athlete development, education, website, social media, promotional, and marketing purposes without additional compensation, unless the permission is revoked in writing where revocation is permitted. Revocation will apply prospectively and will not require removal of materials already produced or published where removal is not reasonably practicable.
12. Electronic Records and Signatures
The parties agree that this Agreement may be completed and signed electronically. Electronic signatures, timestamps, signer identity information, and the WP E-Signature audit trail will be treated as part of the completed Agreement.
13. Participant and Parent/Guardian Agreement
By signing, the participant (when applicable) and parent/legal guardian confirm that they have read, understand, and agree to this Off-Season Conditioning Participant Agreement, Program Policies, Liability Waiver & Media Release. They also confirm that the signer is authorized to consent for the participant.
