Congratulations to our Champion, Noah Gipson, for winning the Newton Rockdale County Conference Cross Country Championships. Noah, coached by our own, John Butler, III, is a 3-year member of the Blue Lightning Track Club. He competes for Young Americans Christian School during the cross country season.
The meet was comprised of all of the public schools in Rockdale and Newton Counties, plus private school YACS. “This is the 1st time in conference history that a non-public school champion was crowned”, said Coach Butler.
Coach Butler began coaching Noah in May and they hit it off. Noah has been under an intense training and coaching regimen over the Summer which has produced major results in his first competition of the season – a 3-minute drop on this very hilly course from last year, 21:05 to 18:05, and a County Championship Crown!
Congrats to Noah and Coach Butler.
Noah competes again this Saturday in Macon, GA.
